Samanway

Our endeavor

We have completed many projects successfully, out of which two of most successful project are described below:

"Suvidha – Export Opportunities in European Market"

The women of slum at Nizamudin Basti are involved in manufacturing of embroidered items like bed sheets, covers, t-shirts etc. Due to lack of marketing knowledge, the women are not able to sell the items and thus incurring losses.

Samanvay members along with European students tried to help the women to get knowledge of customer’s preference, color combination, latest design pattern that are fruitful for sales in European and domestic market. We also tried to incorporate managerial skills in order to enhance the production of goods at commercial scale.

For that matter, a two-day workshop was organized, which comprise of topics like Quality assurance, Inventory management, process mapping, financial management, export documentation & procedures, entrepreneur skills, and business fair practices.

"Rural Women Employment & Development Centre"

The women in any society lay the foundation of better and prosperous future. It’s been necessary for any society to have educated, wealthier and wiser women. India is poor at this front and Samanvay aims at rural women upliftment. The task is really daunting as the Indian society is still grasped with social evils like lower women literacy rate, early child marriages, female infanticides and many more. Moreover taking this project of women empowerment to the grass root level encompassed the retaliation by the male dominated society. Women reaching to the higher ranks that of Sarpanchs are also not allowed to take any decisions of there own and are playing puppets at the hands of their husbands.

The initial phase constituted of identifying villages of Rohtak District, meeting their Sarpanchs and demonstrating what is the objective of the project. The brief presentation included about how the women of the villages could earn extra income apart from their daily household activities.
